George P. Mann
George P. Mann came to the United States as a refugee from communist Romania. His parents and grandparents endured repeated persecution for their religious and ethnic identity — in his grandparents' case, at the cost of their lives. That history shaped everything that followed: a career spent helping immigrants, their families, employers, and sponsors move through a legal system that rarely accounts for what is actually at stake for the people inside it.
He earned his B.S. from Wayne State University in 1970 and his J.D. from Detroit College of Law in 1975. He is admitted before the State Bar of Michigan, the U.S. District Courts for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the State Bar of Michigan.
Over more than four decades he has handled close to every type of immigration matter, for clients from every background — family petitions and employment sponsorship, federal litigation, appeals, and the complicated cases that arrive after somebody else has already tried.
George is deliberate about being reachable. He treats a case as something he and the client work through together, lays out his proposed strategy in advance rather than explaining it afterward, and meets every development — favorable or not — with forthright action and candor. He approaches the work as someone who has personally benefited from what this country offers and is eager to extend it to others, convinced that what makes America worth defending is precisely that it is a country of immigrants.
He has been named a Michigan Super Lawyers honoree since 2006, received the American Immigration Lawyers Association's Michigan Outstanding Litigator Award in 2006, and was named a DBusiness Magazine Top Lawyer in 2020. He serves clients in Spanish, Romanian, Hungarian, Italian, and French.
